Secure Payment and Encryption Overview

At Sugar Bloom, we want you to feel confident whenever you shop with us.

The Sugar Bloom website is operated by FabFinds Limited, trading as Sugar Bloom. We use established payment providers and secure payment technology to help protect your personal and payment information throughout the checkout process.

Our website uses HTTPS encryption to protect information transmitted between your device and our website. Payment information is processed through authorised payment providers, and we do not ordinarily store your full payment card number or card security code on our own systems.

Depending on the options available at checkout, you may be able to pay using major credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Clearpay, and other supported payment methods.

The payment options available to you will always be shown at checkout.

Apple Pay

Where available, Apple Pay lets you complete your purchase using a compatible Apple device without manually entering your full card details into the Sugar Bloom checkout.

Apple Pay is designed so that your full card number is not stored on your device or on Apple's Apple Pay servers. Instead, a device-specific account number is used as part of the payment process.

Payments are authorised using security features available on your device, which may include Face ID, Touch ID, your device passcode, or another supported authentication method.

Sugar Bloom does not receive your full underlying card number simply because you choose to pay using Apple Pay.

If a refund is due for an Apple Pay purchase, it will normally be processed back through the original payment method.

Your normal statutory consumer rights continue to apply when you pay using Apple Pay.

Google Pay

Where available, Google Pay provides another way to complete your purchase without manually entering your card details at checkout.

Google uses encryption and, for eligible cards and transactions, virtual card technology designed to help protect your actual card information.

Depending on your device, card provider, and the type of transaction, you may also be required to verify your identity using a device screen lock, security code, fingerprint, facial recognition, or another authentication method.

The security and verification requirements that apply to your Google Pay payment are controlled by Google, your device, your bank, and your card issuer as applicable.

If we issue a refund for a purchase made using Google Pay, it will normally be returned through the original payment method.

Credit and Debit Cards

We accept supported credit and debit cards shown at checkout.

When you enter card details during checkout, the payment is processed using secure payment technology provided by our authorised payment service providers.

Sugar Bloom does not ordinarily store your full card number or card security code on our own systems.

Your bank or card issuer may require additional verification before approving a payment. This may include a one-time code, banking-app approval, biometric authentication, or another security check.

These checks form part of the security measures used by banks, card issuers, payment networks, and payment providers to help reduce unauthorised card use.

If a payment cannot be authorised, your order may not be completed.

3D Secure and Payment Verification

Some card payments may be subject to additional authentication through services commonly known as 3D Secure.

Depending on your bank or card issuer, you may be asked to:

  • Approve the payment in your banking app

  • Enter a one-time security code

  • Confirm your identity using biometrics

  • Complete another verification step

These checks are managed by your card issuer or payment provider.

We cannot control whether your bank requests additional verification or whether it approves or declines a transaction.

PayPal

Where PayPal is available at checkout, you can choose to complete your payment through your PayPal account.

PayPal processes your financial information through its own secure systems and does not provide Sugar Bloom with your full financial account information simply because you use PayPal to pay.

PayPal states that transactions are encrypted and that it monitors transactions to help detect fraud and other suspicious activity.

Eligible purchases may also qualify for PayPal Buyer Protection, subject to PayPal's eligibility requirements, exclusions, time limits, and other terms.

PayPal Buyer Protection is separate from your statutory rights against Sugar Bloom and does not replace those rights.

If you have an issue with an order, we encourage you to contact us first at marketing@sugarbloom.co.uk so that we can try to resolve the matter directly.

If a refund is issued for a PayPal transaction, we will process it back through PayPal using the original transaction where possible.

Clearpay

Where available, Clearpay allows eligible customers to spread the cost of a purchase in accordance with Clearpay's own payment terms.

Clearpay processes its own payment information and is responsible for the operation and security of the Clearpay service.

Clearpay states that it is a PCI DSS Level 1 certified service provider.

If you choose Clearpay, your agreement with Clearpay relating to your payment plan is separate from your contract with Sugar Bloom for the purchase of the goods.

Clearpay Returns and Refunds

If you wish to return a Sugar Bloom order paid for using Clearpay, you should follow the Sugar Bloom returns process in the normal way.

Once we approve and process a refund, the refund information is passed through to Clearpay.

Clearpay will then update the relevant payment plan. Depending on how much you have already paid, this may involve reducing or cancelling future payments or returning money to the payment method used for previous instalments.

Processing times after we submit a refund may depend on Clearpay and your bank or financial institution.

Your statutory consumer rights against Sugar Bloom are not reduced because you paid using Clearpay.

Klarna

Where Klarna is made available as a payment option, payments made through Klarna will be subject to Klarna's own terms, eligibility requirements, payment options, and security procedures.

Klarna uses security measures including encryption, fraud monitoring, and account authentication to protect payments and customer information.

Depending on the Klarna service you choose, Klarna may also offer options such as two-factor authentication, biometric login, and other account-security features.

Where a Sugar Bloom refund relates to an order paid for using Klarna, we will process the appropriate refund through our payment system and Klarna will then make the corresponding adjustment to your payment arrangement.

Any Klarna Buyer Protection or other protection offered directly by Klarna is subject to Klarna's own terms and eligibility requirements.

Your statutory rights against Sugar Bloom remain separate from any protection offered by Klarna.

Payment Security and PCI DSS

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, commonly known as PCI DSS, sets security requirements for organisations involved in processing payment card information.

We use established payment providers to process payment transactions and take appropriate steps to ensure payment services used by Sugar Bloom meet the security requirements applicable to them.

Outsourcing payment processing does not remove all security responsibilities from an online retailer. We therefore take reasonable steps to maintain the security of the Sugar Bloom website and the systems which interact with our payment providers.

We do not claim that FabFinds Limited itself holds a particular third-party payment or information-security certification unless expressly stated and independently applicable to us.

Fraud Prevention

We and our payment providers may use security and fraud-prevention measures when processing orders.

Depending on the circumstances, these measures may consider information such as:

  • Payment authorisation results

  • Billing and delivery information

  • Device or technical information

  • Transaction value

  • Previous transaction information

  • Unusual or suspicious activity

  • Fraud indicators supplied by payment providers

A transaction may be delayed, declined, cancelled, or referred for additional checks where there is a reasonable concern about fraud or unauthorised use.

In some cases, we may contact you to verify information relating to an order before it is dispatched.

Any fraud-prevention processing involving personal information is carried out in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

Protecting Your Sugar Bloom Account

If you create an account with Sugar Bloom, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure.

We recommend that you:

  • Use a strong and unique password

  • Do not share your password with anyone

  • Avoid using the same password across multiple websites

  • Keep your email account secure

  • Sign out when using a shared device

  • Contact us if you notice activity you do not recognise

We will never ask you to send your full card number, card security code, or online banking password to us by email.

Phishing and Suspicious Communications

Fraudsters sometimes impersonate retailers, delivery companies, banks, or payment providers.

Be cautious of unexpected messages asking you to:

  • Provide payment information

  • Share passwords or security codes

  • Transfer money

  • Click an unfamiliar payment link

  • Download an unexpected attachment

  • Act urgently to prevent your account being closed

If you receive a communication claiming to be from Sugar Bloom and you are unsure whether it is genuine, contact us directly at marketing@sugarbloom.co.uk rather than replying to the suspicious communication.

Refund Security

Where a refund is due, we will normally refund the payment using the same payment method used for the original transaction.

For example, a card purchase will normally be refunded to the original card or associated payment method.

We will not normally ask you to provide full card details by email in order to receive a refund.

The amount of time it takes for a refund to appear after it has been processed may depend on your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.

For information about your legal rights to refunds, cancellations, returns, faulty goods, and damaged products, please see our Terms and Conditions and Returns Policy.

Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Depending on the payment method used, your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may offer a process for disputing a transaction.

The availability and outcome of a chargeback or payment dispute is determined by the relevant bank, card issuer, payment network, or payment provider and is subject to its own rules.

A chargeback is separate from your statutory consumer rights.

If there is a problem with a Sugar Bloom order, we recommend contacting us first so that we have the opportunity to resolve it.

You can contact us at marketing@sugarbloom.co.uk.

Your Consumer Rights

The security or payment method you choose does not replace or reduce your legal rights as a consumer.

Your purchases from Sugar Bloom are made with FabFinds Limited, trading as Sugar Bloom.

Your statutory rights may include rights relating to:

  • Goods being of satisfactory quality

  • Goods being fit for purpose

  • Goods matching their description

  • Faulty or damaged products
